Sustainability Strategy
Scarce resources, environmental damage, climate change and population growth – all challenges that society, politics and business need to face up to. To build a sustainable future, we are working together with our partners to preserve natural resources, avoid environmental pollution and assume social responsibility.

Management and implementation
With the activity areas of communications / reporting, strategy development and stakeholder management, the “Sustainability Strategy” department consolidates measures in the divisions and is responsible for the direction of the sustainability strategy. It reports directly to the Sustainability Board – the full Board of Management of AUDI AG – at least twice a year. The department also heads up the Sustainability Steering Committee, which aims to ensure cross-divisional management of the strategic action area of sustainability. Its resolutions form the basis for decision proposals for the Audi Board of Management as well as for the product-related decision-making committees with members of the Board of Management.
Audi has signed up to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the principles of the International Labour Organization and of the OECD, the principles of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the UN Convention against Corruption. We also emphasize our commitment to the principles of the
UN Global Compact.
The
Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (SDGs) describe 17 global goals for sustainable development. Audi is committed to the globally valid goals and makes a valuable contribution through its sustainability activities.

Stakeholder management
How the relevant stakeholders are handled is a key aspect of Audi’s sustainability strategy. Dialogue provides the Company with vital impetus for its long-term sustainability work.
By deploying various tools of stakeholder management, Audi wants to acquire in-depth knowledge of the interests and needs of stakeholders – then we will be able to align our decisions even more closely with their expectations. An ongoing dialogue helps us to identify key sustainability topics and fine-tune our sustainability management. We actively involve our stakeholders on central issues. We do so by using a variety of dialogue formats, one-to-one discussions and other means of communication.
